Oticon Zeal (CIC) Vs Signia Silk IX – Features Comparison

December 19, 2025

The Oticon Zeal and the Signia Silk IX are completely-in-canal (CIC) hearing aids designed for people who want a discreet hearing aid solution.

This comparison guide provides a clear overview of the features of the Oticon Zeal vs the Signia Silk IX models to help you make the best decision for a CIC hearing aid that matches your hearing loss needs.

Highlights of the Oticon Zeal

The Oticon Zeal is a CIC hearing aid equipped with several features normally found in larger hearing aids. The Oticon Zeal line is set to be released in Australia in early 2026, and will be available in multiple performance levels, with the premium-tier including advanced AI sound processing and modern Bluetooth LE (low-energy) Audio.

The standout quality of the Zeal is its streaming capability. Direct streaming to compatible phones, TVs, and modern audio transmitters provides clear speech quality, music and media without the need for extra accessories. The Oticon Zeal uses deep-learning sound processing designed to separate speech from surrounding noise, adjusting to changing listening scenes with minimal input from the wearer.

The battery life of the Oticon Zeal is designed to last a full day of use with recharging capability.

Highlights of the Signia Silk IX

The Signia Silk IX is one of the smallest CIC options available and is made to fit straight from the box. Soft silicone sleeves create a secure seal without needing custom moulds, making the device comfortable for first-time wearers.

The Silk IX focuses on speech understanding. Its Integrated Xperience platform tracks conversations and keeps voices clear, even when people move around. It is also rechargeable and comes with a pocket-sized charger that provides several extra charges while on the go.

The Silk IX does not provide full Bluetooth audio streaming as a result of its compact size. App-based controls remain available for program changes and volume adjustments.

Features Comparison for Oticon Zeal vs Signia Silk IX

Connectivity & Streaming

The Oticon Zeal supports direct Bluetooth streaming, hands-free calls and Auracast, making it a better option for users who rely on phone calls, music or TV audio through their hearing aids.

The Signia Silk IX does not share the same connectivity features; however, it can still be controlled wirelessly via the phone app to make adjustments to hearing programs.

Sound Quality

The Oticon Zeal delivers a natural sound with good detail and a balanced listening experience. Speech stays clear without losing the sense of surrounding sound. The Oticon Zeal uses the same AI sound processing chip as the Oticon Intent, which is capable of up to 12 dB noise suppression and 6 dB speech clarity enhancement.

The Signia Silk IX focuses more on speech, making voices stand out in conversations. It suits people who spend a lot of time in workplaces, cafés or group settings. IX stands for Integrated Xperience, which is the company’s sound processing software. Integrated Xperience includes features such as real-time analysis and processing of directional microphone patterns to provide the best sound for understanding speech in noisy environments or group conversations.

Battery Life and Charging

The Oticon Zeal uses a built‑in rechargeable battery designed to last a full day on a single charge, typically around 18–20 hours, depending on use of streaming functionality. Charging is done with the included compact charger, which holds extra battery reserves for easy use at home or on the go.

The Signia Silk IX also uses a rechargeable battery that lasts up to 28 hours. Each hearing aid is charged in a small pocket charger that holds multiple extra charges. Both the hearing aids and case will take around 4 hours to fully recharge from empty. The pocket charger can also be recharged wirelessly (Qi), with a quick-charge feature that provides a 6-hour charge for the hearing aids in just 30 minutes.

Fit and Wearing Comfort

The Oticon Zeal is reported to come in multiple sizes and shapes – to achieve a tailored fit for each individual’s ear, a hearing aid fitting appointment with an audiologist will be necessary.

Instead of custom moulds, the Signia Silk IX uses soft silicone EarWear sleeves that conform to the ear canal. This makes wearing them easy and comfortable straight from the box – although hearing aid fitting services will still be necessary to ensure the hearing aid is programmed according to listening needs.
