Widex Allure 330 vs 440 Hearing Aid Comparison
September 2, 2026
The Widex Allure 330 and 440 are two of the best-in-class hearing aid devices on the market in terms of sound clarity and noise isolation.
The Widex Allure 440 is the highest-tier model in the range, offering clarity in busy environments. The Allure 330 is one tier below – equipped with the same sound processing technology but with slightly lower capabilities in singling out speech in noise.
As an independent audiologist, we’ve created this guide to help hearing aid users understand the differences in features between the Widex Allure 330 vs 440 hearing aid devices, so that you can make a clearer decision between the two.

The Main Difference Between the Widex Allure 330 vs 440
The most noticeable difference between the Widex Allure 330 and the 440 is how well each model is equipped to handle sound processing and noise. Being at the top end of the Widex Allure range, the 440 offers the highest tier of sound clarity and adaptability – this is what you’ll be paying for.
Sound Processing Capability (Clarity)
The Widex Allure 440 has 15 sound processing channels, compared to the 330’s 12 channels.
The additional 3 channels in the Widex Allure 440 provide the most powerful speech clarity in noisy environments. The Speech Enhancer Pro performs a 52-band input analysis for granular separation of speech and noise at the input level, which is then put through the device’s 15 sound processing channels to deliver a clear output.
The Widex Allure 330 is also equipped with the Speech Enhancer Pro to separate speech and noise. However, with fewer sound processing channels, the 330 will not perform as well in extremely noisy environments like busy restaurants.
It’s worth noting that the difference in speech clarity and noise handling between the 440 and 330 will not be apparent to all users, as specific use cases and hearing profiles differ. Many individuals may find the Widex Allure 330 more than sufficient in hearing speech clearly.
Sound Class Profiles (Adaptability)
The two models also differ in the number of sound classes. The 330 has 7 sound classifier categories, while the 440 has 11.
A Sound Classifier automatically detects the hearing environment (e.g. office, home, restaurant, outdoors). This automatic detection means that users do not have to manually switch hearing aid settings between environments – the device will automatically switch.
With more Sound Classifiers, the 440 can adapt to a wider range of environments. Users often describe the 440 model as “requiring the least effort”. The 330 has fewer Sound Classifiers, so some manual adjustments may be necessary for complex listening environments.
Shared Features of the Widex Allure 330 vs 440 Hearing Aids
Both the Widex Allure 330 and 440 have the W1 chip, offering four times the speed and memory of the previous iteration. The Widex Allure 330 and 440 also share many similarities across sound processing delay reduction, tinnitus therapy, and connectivity.

PureSound™ with ZeroDelay™
PureSound with ZeroDelay is Widex’s signature hearing aid feature that delivers near-instant sound processing to preserve a natural, unprocessed listening experience. PureSound with ZeroDelay delivers processing times as short as 0.5 ms – so what is heard is very close to how it actually sounds.
The extremely low delay of 0.5ms is what makes the Widex Allure the preferred choice of hearing aid for audiophiles and musicians. PureSound eliminates the tinny, echoey quality that makes older digital aids sound processed.
Tinnitus Therapy
The 330 and 440 come equipped with Widex’s tinnitus therapy programs (Zen), which provide relief for users with tinnitus.
Connectivity
Both the 330 and 440 support direct wireless connectivity (2.4 GHz), broad phone compatibility (iOS plus Android streaming via ASHA and Bluetooth LE Audio), and the Widex Allure app, with accessory compatibility including TV PLAY 2 and RC-DEX.
Battery Life
The Widex Allure 330 and 440 have a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that delivers up to 24 hours of use with 8 hours of streaming, and up to 36 hours of use without.
