How Do Remote Brisbane Audiology Services Work?

Harmony Hearing provides remote audiology services in Brisbane and across all of Australia, allowing you to receive expert hearing care without requiring the need for an in-person appointment at a hearing clinic. Our hearing remote care, or Tele-Audiology, can be conducted while you remain in the comfort of your Brisbane home, offering you access to high-quality audiology services with added convenience.

When it comes to finding the right solution for hearing aids, you’ll need the expert guidance of a qualified audiologist to help determine the extent of your hearing condition and steer you towards a suitable hearing aid device or treatment. However, it can be difficult or inconvenient to find the time to attend an in-person appointment at a hearing clinic.

Remote audiology services in Brisbane can be conducted across:

Phone Call

Consultations can be carried out over the phone to find out more about your hearing situation and provide advice

Video Call

Video consultation over Skype, Zoom, or Facetime, allows our Audiologists to assist you with the help of visual cues, especially for those with hearing loss.

Hearing Aid Application

Consultations can be conducted with the help of hearing aid applications that are integrated with your hearing aid devices, allowing for in-situ testing and programming.

What Our Brisbane Audiology Care Covers

At Harmony Hearing, our remote audiology covers a range of services that are aimed at helping you improve your hearing situation.

Remote Hearing Test

If you are thinking of getting hearing aids, you will need to have completed a recent hearing test or audiogram. This audiogram must have been completed within the last 6 months and needs to be submitted to our Audiologist as part of the process.

If you don’t have a recent audiogram, you can obtain one with our remote hearing test service. Simply provide us with your home address and place an order. We will send our remote hearing test kit to your door, and you can perform it on your own with the provided instructions, or have our audiologists guide you through it over a video consultation.

Once you have your hearing test results, you can then submit them to our Audiologist to get hearing aids that are configured to your hearing condition.

Tinnitus Treatment and Counselling

Our audiologists are professionally trained in providing effective treatment and counselling for individuals who experience tinnitus. The symptoms of tinnitus can often be debilitating and significantly affect your quality of life.

Through video or audio consultations, our audiologists can help provide you with strategies to better manage your tinnitus and help you regain control over your hearing.

Hearing Aid Testing and Calibration

Your hearing aids will need to be set up and adjusted from time to time to match your hearing ability. One convenient way to calibrate them accurately is through an in-situ audiometry or sensogram. While this process can be done at a hearing clinic, it can also be performed remotely while providing accurate adjustments for your hearing aids.

Our Brisbane audiologists can remotely guide you through this process by connecting to your hearing aids and producing test tones in your ears. With the help of your responses to these test tones, we can measure the results to understand the best way to program your hearing aids so that you can enjoy crisp and clear sounds.
