Harmony Hearing & Audiology News April 2026

March 29, 2026

Welcome to the first edition of our Quarterly e-newsletter.

I’ve been meaning to stay in better touch like this for quite some time, and I appreciate that it’s taken longer than it should have to get this underway.

Please know that even though we haven’t always reached out in this format, you have never been forgotten. Each of our clients, past and present, is genuinely valued, and we are truly grateful for the trust you’ve placed in us with your hearing care.

The plan with this newsletter is simple — to keep you up to date with the latest advances in hearing technology, share helpful information, and keep you in the loop with what’s happening at Harmony Hearing.

Behind the scenes, we’ve made some improvements to ensure we can communicate more consistently moving forward, so you feel supported and connected with us over time.

Despite the current economic climate, Harmony Hearing continues to grow as Perth’s premier independent hearing services provider. After 14 years, we remain fresh, motivated, and focused on delivering the highest level of care — with well-appointed clinics and a team that is genuinely passionate about helping people hear their best.

Thank you again for your continued support — it truly means a great deal to us.

Warm regards
Andrew & the Harmony Hearing Team

Ten signs of hearing loss you can’t ignore

If you have any of these problems then it’s time to come in and see us:

  • Difficulties hearing conversation in groups
  • People seem to mumble, causing you to miss certain words.
  • Difficulty using the phone, especially in noisy background.
  • You need to turn up the volume on the TV and radio.
  • You’ve turned the subtitles on when no one is looking.
  • Difficulty understanding speech unless the person is facing you.
  • You have ringing in your ears.
  • Texting and email have become your preferred ways to communicate.
  • Some sounds seem very loud and cause you distress.
  • You smile and nod a lot, trying to disguise the fact that you haven’t heard what’s being said.

Fun Fact: Why Birds Keep Their Hearing Sharp 🐦

Did you know that birds can actually regrow the tiny sensory cells in their inner ear responsible for hearing? Unlike humans, whose hearing cells don’t naturally repair once damaged, birds can regenerate these cells throughout their lives — helping them maintain good hearing even after injury. Scientists are now studying this process closely, with the hope of one day unlocking similar treatments for humans. While it’s not available just yet, exciting research is already underway — meaning the future of hearing care could look very different in years to come.
